U.S. Supreme Court blocks part of Texas’ new abortion law
The U. S. Supreme Court on Tuesday temporarily allowed several abortion clinics to reopen by directing Texas to stop enforcing part of its controversial new abortion law until a settlement of legal challenge.
The apex court ruled that abortion facilities should not yet have to meet the standards of hospital-style surgical centers, as required by the sweeping abortion measure House Bill 2 that was passed last summer.
The strict abortion measure has already 75 per cent of the clinics in the state close, leaving merely eight clinics for the state's 26 million people.

Neon lights adorn two I-10 overpasses in Downtown El Paso
Two overpasses in downtown El Paso along Interstate 10 (I-10) started shining bright with neon lights Tuesday night. The neon lights on the overpasses of Prospect Street and Missouri Avenue are part of a $10 million project funded by the state to make the driving experience in El Paso more appealing to the eyes by bringing some color to the highway at night.
Residents welcomed the installation of neon lights, saying the lights made the city look better.
