Gruesome Shootout Kills 18 in Texas, amidst Police Prior Presence
Who is to be blamed?
On Sunday, the biker shootout took Texas by storm, leaving nine dead and injuring another 18, despite a prior intimation with the Waco police department about the likelihood of the occurrence of this dreadful event.
The Waco Police Department has arrested 192 people on Monday in connection with the Texas shooting. The Police said in a statement that the arrested will be charged for engaging in organized crime.
The rival bike gangs gathered at the Twin Peaks restaurant in Waco, located at a shopping mall in the central Texas City. The deadly gun battle ensued at this sports bar on Sunday, when a simmering feud among rival biker gangs boiled over to a deadly combat.
The Police was already deployed at the restaurant as they had preliminary knowledge about the congregation of the gangs at Twin Peaks. Therefore, it’s appalling that despite the presence of law machinery at the crime scene, the atrocious episode could not be stalled, claiming nine lives and hurting 18 more.
The Police informed that the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission has ordered the shutdown of Twin Peaks Sports Bar and Grill, for at least seven days due to the ongoing danger it presents to the community. It has been stated that the commission is also conducting a parallel investigation and may take further action.
The police have reported that all of the deaths and injuries were among the bikers and there have been no blameless civilian causalities.
Sergeant Patrick Swanton, Waco Police Department, stated,” I was amazed that we didn’t have innocent civilians killed or injured”. The Sergeant communicated that since the shootout has occurred, the police officials have also been threatened.
How safe are the civilians in Waco, when the law enforcement agency itself is under the scanner of offenders!
