Three iconic Tillamook buses stolen overnight in California

Three iconic Tillamook Cheese microbuses, worth nearly $100,000 each, were stolen from a parking lot of California overnight, local police confirmed.

Sgt. Rob Armosino of Manteca police reported that the three bright orange-colored Volkswagen buses were stolen along with a truck and trailer from a Hampton Inn parking lot between 12:30 a. m. and 6:30 a. m.

At the time of the stealing, the completely restored microbuses were inside the trailer that was attached to a Ford F350 truck.

At early hours of Sunday, police officers managed to find the truck and trailer that thieves had abandoned in Jamestown, California. Before abandoning the truck and the trailer, thieves had set them on fire. There was no sign of the stolen iconic microbuses.

The vehicles were reportedly on a public relations trip for the Oregon-based cheese company. As per available information, the microbuses were in the area of Sacramento as part of the Loaf Love Tour, a campaign to promote cheese produced by Tillamook.

Manteca police urged all the members of the public to inform it about the vehicles, if they have any information, at 209-456-8101 or Crime Stoppers at 209-823-4636.

Tillamook Cheese has announced a reward of $10,000 for the safe recovery of its three iconic Volkswagen buses.
