Hawaii lava flow speeds up, local authorities watching the situation carefully
The local authorities issued an alert for the residents in a rural area of Hawaii as lava flow from an erupting volcano continued to advance and higher flow speed was noticed. As per the Sunday reports, lava flow has extended about 250 yards since Saturday and about 10 to 15 yards an hour was the rate it was moving at.
The flow moved through a predominantly Buddhist cemetery and covered grave sites in the mostly rural region of Puna. Its distance from Pahoa Village Road, the main street of Pahoa, is roughly half a mile.
DFW International Airport confirms anti-gay attack
Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport authorities have confirmed the violent incident in which an intoxicated passenger attacked another passenger verbally as well as physically.
The airport authorities confirmed the incident after a short video posted online recently shows a man hurling anti-gay epithets and attacking another man at Gate C30 of the international airport.
Cynthia Vega, a spokesperson for the airport, said, "Yes, it did happen, and yes, there was an arrest." However, Vega could not reveal the name of the attacker and the victim.
Police probing UT Health Science Center bomb hoax
Police investigators are probing the bomb hoax that forced evacuation of the University of Texas (UT) Health Science Center's dental school for a couple of hours on Friday.
Unidentified suspect/s wrote multiple threats, such as "Keep out u will die," on the wall of a bathroom and other locations using lipstick. The messages indicated there might be a bomb in the dental school.
Michael Parks, chief of University Police Department, said they started getting calls about the handwritten threats at around 4 p. m. on Friday from people concerned about the potential danger.
