SpaceX Succeeds In Landing Its Falcon 9 Upright

SpaceX’s unmanned rocket Falcon 9 successfully landed upright at Florida's Cape Canaveral at about 7:40 p.m. central time after a 10-minute of flight. The falcon 9 landed upright after sending 11 satellites into the orbit.

The Post even published articles about the historic landing of the Falcon 9 rocket for two consecutive days. SpaceX’s rival company Blue Origin, a space start-up founded by Amazon.com chief executive Jeff Bezos, was successful in making a similar return rocket landing test last month.

One of the things that has happened special in 2015 is the arrival of reusable rockets. Space X’s Elon Musk predicts that the reusable rocket will reduce the cost of accessing space by at least hundredfold. SpaceX and Blue Origin, both have succeeded in landing rocket back on earth, but in different zones.

On December 21, SpaceX has returned its 15-storey booster rocket upright and in intact form to a landing pad at a Cape Canaveral. It was big feat and one of the factors was a $60 million worth machinery was recovered.

The first stage of the Falcon 9 rocket successfully landed in Cape Canaveral on December 21 2015. The first stage booster of SpaceX returned unharmed after completing its mission. This is the first time that a rocket has landed back smoothly on Earth after propelling 11 commercial satellites into the orbit. The satellites launched by the rocket were owned by communications company Orbcomm.

SpaceX’s Falcon 9 Lands Successfully

Landing of a rocket is no more considered a very significant deal; however, in reality it is quite a tough task. This explains the reason for SpaceX founder Elon Musk’s excitement following the successful landing of its Falcon 9. The rocket landed close to its launch pad at Cape Canaveral on December 21 2015. The 14-story booster returned intact after successfully launching 11 commercial satellites to orbit.

SpaceX to Launch its Upgraded Falcon 9 Rocket on Sunday with Recovery Landing Back at Cape Canaveral

Since, after the failure of the SpaceX’s first orbital attempt aboard the International Space Station (ISS) on June 28, the Hawthorne, Ca.-based Company plans to launch a Falcon 9 v1.1 rocket this Sunday. Sunday’s 8.29 p.m. EST marks the launch of the first operational use of the upgraded Falcon 9 rocket on solid ground that will carry 11 ORBCOMM communications satellites along with it. The upgraded Falcon 9 rocket features new Merlin 1D engines, a new payload fairing, and stretched fuel tanks, that will allow the first stage of the rocket to have enough fuel to attempt a recovery landing.

Tech Giants Join Hands to Donate $1 Billion to a Non-Profit

Some famous tech giants have collaborated to give $1 billion to a non-profit called Open AI and Artificial Intelligence research group. The main aim of the research group is to ‘advance digital intelligence’ to a point at which it can help humans.

SpaceX and Tesla CEO Elon Musk in a joint effort with Y Combinator president Sam Altman, LinkedIn co-founder Reid Hoffman, and Musk’s PayPal co-founder Peter Thiel, hope that this donation will help Open AI to function freely without worrying about generating a financial return.
